Michael Barnett’s career in the industry includes eleven years with General Electric Capital Corp. with seven of these years as Chairman and CEO of Employer’s Reassurance Corp., Union Fidelity Insurance Co. and Heritage Casualty Insurance Co. He joined GE ERC as part of its acquisition of AUL Reinsurance in July of 2002, as the US Life Reinsurance Leader for Global Life & Health.
Barnett began his insurance career as an agent with Mutual Benefit Life in 1976. He joined AUL Reinsurance in 1979 and for 23 years held responsibility for ceded and assumed administration, claims, systems, treaties, accounting, group reinsurance and the North American Life Reinsurance operation.
