MCKINNEY, TEXAS, Nov. 19, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Lifeblue today announced that it has become a Certified B Corporation, joining a movement that identifies and celebrates companies with positive social and environmental impact. The McKinney-based digital strategy and services company shares this distinction with more than 2,500 companies in more than 50 nations worldwide; it is among four B Corps in the Dallas area.
Certified B Corporations meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose. Prominent Certified B Corporations include Ben & Jerry's, Patagonia, Etsy and Eileen Fisher.
"Lifeblue has always been a purpose-driven organization," CEO Nicki Purcell said. "We've been very focused on what we want to deliver back to our community, and we pursued the B Corp certification to help us make that clear — not just to ourselves, but to our partners and the public as well."
Certified B Corporations achieve a minimum verified score on the B Impact Assessment — a rigorous assessment of a company's impact on its workers, customers, community and environment — and make their B Impact Report transparent. B Corps also amend their legal governing documents to require their board of directors to balance profit and purpose. B Corp Certification is administered by the nonprofit B Lab.
Lifeblue's mission is to help companies grow their social, cultural or economic impact on the world. Among the 12-year-old company's clients are Heifer International, The Dallas Morning News, Voly.org and the Perot Museum of Nature and Science.
