Lightning Bolt Solutions, the leader in optimized physician shift scheduling technology, announced today the hire of Mary Piepenbrink, RN, BSN, MBA, as Vice President of Sales. Piepenbrink brings 25 years of healthcare experience to the role, including time as both a clinician and a sales executive dealing with healthcare informatics, advanced analytics and artificial intelligence (AI) solutions. She will lead Lightning Bolt’s sales organization as the company grows under new parent PerfectServe®, a leading provider of cloud-based clinical communication and collaboration (CC&C) solutions. Lightning Bolt was acquired by PerfectServe in February as part of the company’s plan to build the industry’s first true care team collaboration platform.

Previously, Piepenbrink served as the Executive Vice President of Sales and Customer Success at Pieces Technologies, a Dallas-based technology company that builds software for real-time patient data interpretation. At Pieces Tech, Piepenbrink oversaw sales, customer success and marketing for all solutions and more than doubled the company’s revenue. During her tenure, Piepenbrink managed client teams, launched a reference program, developed sales strategy and tools, assisted with outside financing efforts and closed three sales channel contracts, as well as multiple new business enterprise deals, renewals and expansion sales.
Piepenbrink’s extensive background also includes time as an Associate Partner in the healthcare vertical at IBM, where she led large-scale IT projects inside and outside the United States and helped healthcare payer and provider clients find the right analytics solutions and consulting services for their business needs. She also spent over four years as the Vice President of Southeast Enterprise Solutions at McKesson, responsible for all inpatient and outpatient enterprise system sales, including clinical, revenue cycle, automation, imaging, ambulatory and business analytics. Piepenbrink has held additional sales leadership positions at CareFusion and Ibex/Picis.
