Chicago, IL (PRWEB) June 03, 2015 -- Contemporary lighting showroom and e-tailer Lightology is thrilled to announce the resurrection of its Design with Light Competition. In 2010 Lightology held its first product design contest: Design with Light Competition. Edge Lighting put the winning design from that competition into production, and the winner still receives royalties on his design to this day. This year, the competition is embracing a different aspect of lighting design and inviting participants to design an interior space using architectural lighting products. Sponsored by Pure Lighting and Edge Lighting, Lightology’s Design with Light Competition 2015 is intended to promote creativity and recognize design excellence while supporting education in lighting and interior design.
The competition is open to all who are interested in lighting, design, and/or interior architecture, including students, professionals, and design enthusiasts. To enter the competition participants are required to choose from a selection of Pure Lighting and Edge Lighting products and design a unique interior space.
“Pure Lighting and Edge Lighting’s architectural lighting fixtures embrace the notion that an interior space is defined by light,” said Lightology owner Greg Kay. “The right lighting is a make-or-break element in any design. Not only can poor lighting totally ruin an otherwise well-designed space, but the perfect lighting can actually create and define a space all on its own. Lighting should never be an afterthought; its impact is immeasurable when creatively and thoughtfully integrated into a design from the beginning.
The beauty of Pure Lighting and Edge Lighting products is that they aren’t just lighting fixtures—they become tools to personalize any interior space and take design to the next level. Now anyone can use the principals of lighting design to create an unforgettable space. And with the customizable nature of these products, not only are you the lighting designer for the space, you’re also designing the fixtures themselves. We want designers to explore the possibilities and create something truly unique.”
The competition begins on May 22, 2015. All entries must be submitted by 11:59pm on July 10, 2015. One Grand Prize Winner can choose between one of two prizes: A $1,500 scholarship (cash prize) or a $2,000 Lightology gift certificate – at designer pricing. In addition, the winner will receive an all-expenses paid trip to the Lightology showroom for the announcement party in August.
Architectural Lighting Magazine is a media sponsor for the event.
