Fitness Trackers Sweat It Out at Battle of the Bands, Presented by Living in Digital Times at CE Week 2014
New York, NY (PRWEB) June 11, 2014 -- Get your ring side seat for the fiercest battle in fitness. Living in Digital Times is putting fitness devices to the test during the Battle of the Bands at CE Week 2014. Top brands will enter their fitness device to sweat it out in this high-energy heart-pumping competition where the audience will decide which band comes out on top. The live event will take place on June 25th at 12:30 p.m. EST at the Metropolitan Pavilion in New York.
“Anyone who is the least bit health conscious has or has considered using a fitness tracker. By this fall there is a 61% chance that people who are into healthy living will be wearing a fitness device,” said Julie Sylvester, co-producer, Living in Digital Times. “Battle of the Bands is an exciting way for us to bring the range of fitness devices together to learn what makes them not only unique but essential to our fitness routine.”
Fitness trackers can do anything from counting how many steps the wearer has taken to calculating calories burned, and collecting data about sleep patterns to providing bodily stats to share with our friends, fitness partners and communities. Each fitness tracker participating in Battle of the Bands will have four minutes to tell its story. The audience will then vote by using three criteria: creativity, usefulness and capabilities of the device. Battle of the Bands participants include:
• Healbe GoBe™ provides the health and fitness insights you need. Simply wear it to see calories consumed and burned, pulse wave, hydration, sleep, stress levels, and more, delivered effortlessly to your smartphone.
• GOQii integrates wearable technology, expert-led personalized coaching and elements of social philanthropy to encourage users to make a sustainable shift toward a healthier and more fulfilling lifestyle.
• Skulpt AIM measures body fat percentage and muscle quality (MQ) of individual muscle groups and was winner of the online segment of Last Gadget Standing at CES 2014
• Wellograph, an activity tracker, a heart rate monitor and a running watch in one that delivers live, insightful information about the wearer's activity through a simple infographic interface and sapphire crystal display.
“With more sensors, better algorithms, predictive behaviors and more elegant design, the next generation of fitness wearable devices are raising the bar for what fitness tech can do for us," said Robin Raskin, founder, Living in Digital Times. "At Battle of the Bands, there are no losers, if anything, we’re all winners because we’re becoming more attuned with how to become our healthiest selves."
