Silver and Bronze medals in 2018 Golden Bean North America Roasting Competition

It’s our goal to roast our select green coffees to their best potential for our customers to enjoy every day, so gaining industry awards for our roasts is a wonderful validation of our efforts.

Lizzy’s Fresh Coffee, one of Idaho’s top coffee roasters, today announced awards in the 2018 Golden Bean North America Coffee Roasting Competition.

As an online coffee retailer and wholesale supplier, Lizzy’s Fresh Coffee focuses on selecting and roasting some of the world’s best coffees. The Golden Bean is the world’s largest coffee roaster competition, with the event running over ten years in Australia, and now in its fourth competition year in North America. Coffees from top roasters in the US and Canada were submitted for judging in various categories.

Lizzy’s Fresh Coffee received honors in four categories.
Silver Medal: Guatemala Huehuetenango, Organic Espresso Category
Silver Medal: Ethiopia Layo Taraga, Single Origin Espresso Category
Bronze Medal: Costa Rica La Trinidad, Pour Over Filter Category
Bronze Medal: Posy Blend, Espresso Category

“We are truly grateful to the amazing farmers around the globe that cultivate beautiful coffees” says Liz Roquet, President and Founder of Lizzy’s Fresh Coffee. “It’s our goal to roast these coffees to their best potential for our customers to enjoy every day, so gaining industry awards for our roasts is a wonderful validation of our efforts. We’re honored and thrilled.”

This is the third year that Lizzy’s has earned recognition, previously winning silver and bronze medals in the 2016 and 2017 Golden Bean competitions. This year’s winning roasts highlight Roquet’s roasting skill with four distinct coffees. The Guatemala Huehuetenango, grown by female farmer Ana Alvarado Domingo, and boasting notes of toffee, lemon, strawberry. The Costa Rica La Trinidad community coffee is sweet, with hints of grapefruit, lemon & melon. Ethiopia Layo Taraga brings surprising apricot, persimmon and caramel flavors to the cup. Finally, Posy was a blend developed only for the competition, and will be featured in the Lizzy’s Coffee Bar throughout the fall.

The coffees can be ordered online at http://www.lizzysfreshcoffee.com, and shipped anywhere nationwide.
