Conry writes, “Boy is in the barn shooting marbles at a target with spring shot. Mom is at the door of soddy banging on a dishpan with a wooden spoon, calling me. Boy looks out the door and hears her saying, “Boy, come in house now,” as she points at a large cloud of dust rolling toward us. It is as high as could be seen.”
