GAITHERSBURG, Md., April 24, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Stored in the Rebel Music Collective vault back in 2016, the music video for "Petty" comes into the limelight this week. "Petty" was strategically removed from the "Last Summer" roll out to keep the focus on the album's single, "Lately," which just celebrated its million-stream milestone last week. Three years later, Rebel Music Collective is releasing this hidden gem and giving fans a nostalgic taste of some of Lo Village's earliest work.
Riding a high from the success of "Lately," Lo Village (who was then a trio including male R&B vocalist, Kwess) traveled to California to shop around their new single. The city boys from the east coast loved the beachy, relaxed vibes of Los Angeles so much that they impromptu filmed the video for "Petty" their first night in town.
"Since Lately was our first single, we tried to make it the most appealing for the greatest number of people. Petty was more of a relaxed, raw, hip-hop / neo-soul blend that was truly us, and I think that shines through in the video as well as the song itself," said Lo Village emcee Kane.
The full length video for Petty is available to stream now on the Lo Village YouTube channel, and the audio is available on all streaming platforms!
