Local Brothers Strive to Make Shawarma the New "Taco" By Opening Their Newest Restaurant, Sufrãt (pronounced Soo FRAHT,) in the Popular Pines City Center.
Four brothers embrace a new project in Pembroke Pines with plans to bring more make Mediterranean food like shawarma as common as the Mexican taco.
PEMBROKE PINES, Fla., Dec. 17, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Sufrãt is the second restaurant of its kind that the Altillawi family has opened. This new venture has been appropriately placed in the Pines City Center, the previous home of the Halal Guys. After its soft opening in November, Sufrãt has received excellent reviews on Yelp, and the surrounding community – all impressed with its variety, quality, and fantastic taste.
Sufrãt's menu caters to the whole family: the meat lover, the vegan, the healthy eater, even the pickiest kids! The quality of the ingredients and traditional elaboration makes all the food authentically delicious. They feature traditional dishes like slow-roasted gyro and shawarma, but also customized healthy bowls, super tasty lamb and beef cheeseburgers with Greek fries, and all the Mediterranean delights like a super juicy and made to perfection lamb kebab.
What is Sufrãt? Sufrãt comes from the Arabic word Sofra that means dining table or feast, and for this unique restaurant it means the art of making mealtime the best moment of the day! The perfect casual place to gather with family and friends! Sufrãt will aim to serve the most delicious Mediterranean food using the freshest ingredients made with LOVE in an environment surrounded by hospitality and generosity.
What is Shawarma? Shawarma is one of the world's most popular street foods, originally from the Middle East that has become extremely popular in Europe, and now is reaching new food enthusiasts in America. The preparation consists of meat cut into thin slices, stacked in a cone-like shape, and roasted on a slow-turning vertical rotisserie or spit. Thin slices are shaved off the cooked surface as it continuously rotates.
The Sufrãt owners plan to open more Sufrãt locations in Miami and Broward to follow this Pembroke Pines spot, and their unified goal is to make Mediterranean food like shawarma, as common as the Mexican taco, something that Floridians would include in their daily cravings.
"I can't stop thinking about the hummus. Super extra creamy and flavorful. This would keep me coming back without all the other delicious dishes. I tried the lamb gyro and loved it. I don't find enough of this cuisine in the area, and I am a fan! The shawarma and gyros are slow-roasted in house daily, and even the Tzatziki is fresh and house-made."
