New Orleans business Queork, a firm that designs and manufactures sustainable cork goods to create a collection of fun, vibrant, prideful, and figurative themed cork products, has entered into a license agreement with native New Orleans artist Margaux Hymel.
NEW ORLEANS, Oct. 12, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The New Orleans business Queork, a firm that designs and manufactures sustainable cork goods to create a collection of fun, vibrant, prideful, and figurative themed cork products, has entered into a license agreement with native New Orleans artist Margaux Hymel through her business Art by Gaux Gaux.
In December of 2018, Queork was featured on the television series "The Profit" and received funding from investor Marcus Lemonis. Since that time, the company has expanded and improved its marketing and business operations.
In August 2020, Queork began researching more ways to provide customized products for the increased demands of unique, quality designs. As a result Queork added a lightweight, industrial UV printer to its manufacturing operations leading to new creative possibilities.
Every year, Queork's Magazine Street location participates in Art for Art's Sake, normally a one-night celebration of local art and shopping. When Queork started planning for this year, they were looking to find a local artist whose artwork would capture the vibrancy of New Orleans on select cork products to collaborate with starting with Art for Art's Sake 2020.
Queork researched artists on Magazine Street and presented some ideas to Margaux and the Art by Gaux Gaux team. "We are excited to partner for this great opportunity to showcase Margaux's artworks in a new format in handbags and home accessories," said Chance Brignac, General Manager.
Margaux Hymel, a graduate of LSU with a MFA, has been painting and creating art in the New Orleans community for years; her works have recently been featured in a number of galleries and locales around the city. She shared her enthusiasm about the Queork project by saying, "What a great experience it has been collaborating with the team from Queork. That the art I so love creating can be enjoyed by more people in new and environmentally sound ways makes me very happy."
The new Art by Gaux Gaux collection is available online at http://www.queork.com and in-store at Queork 3005 Magazine Street.
