DALLAS, July 24, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Recently, Lone Star Analysis, a Dallas-based specialist in leading-edge predictive and prescriptive analytics solutions, assisted the Norwegian Ministry of Defence (NORMOD) as it completed a critical phase of testing for the Joint Strike Missile, qualifying it for integration with the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter.
Using Lone Star's Program and Systems Advisory Solutions, the company, working closely with NORMOD and Kongsberg Defence Systems, ensured the missile met its developmental testing and safety qualification requirements, as well as the criteria for beginning integration on the F-35. As part of the effort, Lone Star assisted NORMOD in managing the Integrated Product Team (IPT) including more than a dozen U.S. government and Norwegian testing and support organizations while staying on an aggressive time schedule.
"The Norwegian Ministry of Defence is very happy with the support we received from the Lone Star team in making this critical qualification flight test program a resounding success," said Lt. Col. Egil Stromsvag, F-35 Norway program manager, NORMOD. "This was a very complex program that included many stakeholders and contributors, Lone Star's support was critical to ensuring that we met our testing goals on a very demanding schedule."
The Joint Strike Missile can be employed against both sea and land-based targets, and will feature a two-way Weapon Data Link, so the missile can be dynamically tasked in flight.
The development and qualification testing was completed at the Utah Test and Training Range (UTTR) using aircraft supplied by the 416th Flight Test Squadron at Edwards Air Force Base in California.
"Assisting our client in completing this phase of testing brings NORMOD one step closer to achieving its goal of integrating this mission critical missile on the F-35," said Matthew Bowers, vice president of corporate development, Lone Star. "Knowing our Program and System Advisory team helped make this possible validates our capabilities to deliver complex programs on schedule, on budget and within scope for our clients."
