Los Cucos Mexican Restaurant Partners with the Houston Fire Department for Operation Stocking Stuffer, the HFD's Annual Toy Drive
Los Cucos donates over 200 meals, as well as catering staff, to support Houston firefighters and volunteers during the Houston Fire Department's annual toy drive
HOUSTON, Dec. 20, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Los Cucos Mexican Restaurant donates meals and catering services to the annual Operation Stocking Stuffer Toy Drive put on by the Houston Fire Department (HFD). Their hope is to give back to this large-scale community effort, and to spread joy to those who volunteer to help so many needy Houston families during the holiday season.
The Houston Fire Department's annual Operation Stocking Stuffer Toy Drive collects toy donations from major sponsors each year. Financial sponsors include First Community Credit Union, Shell, Hess and more, while PODS donates the containers to store the thousands of donated toys. Operation Stocking Stuffer is also sponsored by local media groups, including KRBE, KPRC, and KSBJ. Their many sponsors make it possible for them to give back to struggling members of the Houston community in a big way. This year, the Houston Fire Department is providing toys for over 2,000 families. This massive event is only possible due to their numerous sponsors and the over 200 volunteers who give their time to help organize and hand out donations.
Owners of Los Cucos—Sergio Cabrera and Sergio Cabrera Jr.—are passionate about giving back to the Houston community, and have been food sponsors of Operation Stocking Stuffer since 2013. Each year, they provide a fajita buffet for the over 200 volunteers and firefighters who help make the toy drive a possibility. But Los Cucos doesn't just provide fresh, mouth-watering fajitas. They also send their experienced catering staff to help pass out food.
About Los Cucos' involvement in the toy drive, Houston Fire Department's Communications Supervisor, Paul Box, said "The Cabrera Family and Los Cucos have been incredible supporters of the HFD's Operation Stocking Stuffer Toy Drive for many years." He also added, "The event would simply not be what it is without their involvement." Los Cucos looks forward to furthering their philanthropic involvement with the Houston Fire Department for years to come.
