The results went from dated to bright, energetic, technically innovative, and engaging — the company is thrilled!
While Mountaire Farms is one of the largest and fastest growing agricultural food production and chicken processing companies in the country, as a family-owned business, they wanted to connect with their customers and communities on a personal level. Their old website wasn’t doing an adequate job of engaging their site visitors; it needed to shine with a vitality that communicated their energy and enthusiasm.
Like their client, Lounge Lizard saw the opportunity to create a stimulating and inviting site that would convey the Mountaire Farms commitment to their community and team members. Through an emphasis on family and their exclusive work with local farmers, the site conveys hometown values, a focus on sustainability, and their devotion to their scholarship winners and the veterans they actively support as team members and part of the family.
In the execution, Lounge Lizard had a two-fold challenge — first, make the site easy and accessible for wholesale and international clients who want quick and efficient access to product information and brand offerings, and second, meet the informational needs of their grocery and retail customers.
For the second group, a unique feature was designed where customers could check the serial number of their purchase to verify that it was a quality Mountaire product. Logistically, this entailed an automated process that loaded the information into an accessible database that was able to populate the customer query. This feature has shown itself to be very popular with customers wanting to ensure they are receiving top-quality Mountaire poultry and not a lookalike product.
The new site also gave them an opportunity to highlight their innovative and timely Community Truckload Sales. Concerned after the shortages of meat and poultry in grocery stores, Mountaire got to work with a plan that deployed truckloads of heavily discounted product to unexpected venues where they were able to reach people in need. The new website has become a hub for fundraiser awareness and a community billboard for upcoming events.
Overall, the new website, with its modern esthetic and responsive programming, and the brand communication strategy have launched Mountaire Farms with a new persona in the minds of customers and site visitors.
