Loupe Brings Immersive Visual Experiences Exclusively to Apple TV
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) December 17, 2015 -- Today, Loupe LLC launches the Loupe app for the all-new Apple TV. Loupe is the first streaming art marketplace, featuring a global mix of emerging, cutting edge and established contemporary artists. The Loupe app for Apple TV features 18 unique channels, and will roll out the marketplace after the start of the year.
“We live in a virtual candy store with music streaming today,” said Dot Bustelo, CEO/Founder, Loupe LLC, and a former Global Product Marketing Manager with Apple. “Using similar technology, Loupe brings the same infinite discovery of art to Apple TV that we now have with music. Why not create an immersive, accessible visual experience for art that elevates our senses like music does?”
Loupe’s evocative channels include Dream Worlds, Places I’ve Never Been, Hyper Real, Surreal/Psychedelic and Wide-Eyed Poems, in addition to My Favorites and Random Play, which contains all the art in the platform. In coming months, search by artist and other metadata tags such as geolocation will be available allowing users to search out local art. Today, users can favorite art and immediately create a personalized stream directly using the touch surface on Apple TV’s Siri remote.
Loupe’s vision of “art for all” spoke to dozens of artists across the globe who submitted in November and December to join the platform. The platform will constantly expand its catalogue, and add new channels. Styles of current artists range from oil painting, landscapes and realism to more experimental forms of mixed media and abstractions. Artists interested in submitting should visit: loupeart.com/contact.
“The styles represent the avant-garde to the traditional. Images in this collection are selected based on the criteria that they appeal to our senses, enhance the beauty of our lives, inspire us, and challenges our imagination. This new venue has only become possible as digital online image quality has reached a higher resolution,” explains Chief Curator, Rob Van Petten.
Loupe’s marketplace will be activated in early 2016 giving users the opportunity to own artist originals, reproductions and limited edition prints.
“Loupe is a visual experience for the home, workspace and multitude of public places adopting the new Apple TV. It’s a logical progression for Apple to bring an app store and marketplace to the largest screen in our home,” said Bustelo. “While music streaming faces many challenges in providing a strong financial return to musicians, art streaming has another opportunity with a connected marketplace. You don't buy the original recording of a song unlike with art where a part of the enjoyment is often owning the original or reproduction.”
