Lumension Releases Endpoint Management and Security Suite v8.1

This latest release adds new features and functionality to improve overall ease of use for IT security teams, enhancing the efficiency and manageability of patch and endpoint rollouts, and expanding platform support across the entire suite.
L.E.M.S.S. is ideal for businesses that seek greater security, improved visibility and increased operational efficiencies at the endpoint. The latest release includes Custom Patch Lists which simplify the workflow by ensuring the exact same list of patches is used for test deployments, production deployment rollouts and vulnerability analysis reporting. In addition, customers can now optimize patch content set-up for their organization with the Patch Content Browser. This feature enables users to create and view Custom Patch Lists along with existing default patch views and system views to optimize patch content set-up for their organization.
In addition to patch management improvements, L.E.M.S.S. v8.1 now streamlines the process of adding endpoints to groups. The completely redesigned Endpoint Membership Dialog now includes search and filter features to seamlessly find endpoints to be added, as well as the ability to import a list of endpoints.
L.E.M.S.S. v8.1 also delivers enhanced module capabilities and expanded platform and agent support, including:
• Lumension Patch and Remediation Module: Support has been added for CentOS Linux 7, Oracle Enterprise Linux 7, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 and Mac OS X 10.10 (Yosemite).
• Lumension Device Control Module: Includes better device detection capabilities to ensure proper device identification and control.
• The entire suite now supports Microsoft SQL 2014.
