As the Foundation’s most successful Team LRF event year after year, Lymphoma Research Ride continues to be a hallmark event in supporting our mission thanks to the tireless dedication and efforts of Dr. Cheson and the Ride committee.
WASHINGTON (PRWEB) August 28, 2019
The Lymphoma Research Foundation (LRF) – the nation’s largest non-profit organization devoted exclusively to funding innovative lymphoma research and serving the lymphoma community through a comprehensive series of education programs, outreach initiatives and patient services – will host its annual Lymphoma Research Ride on Sept. 22 in Montgomery County, Maryland.
This year’s event will take place during Blood Cancer Awareness Month at the Barnesville School in Barnesville, Maryland. Over the last 12 years, the Lymphoma Research Ride has been a signature event in the Team LRF portfolio and has raised more than $5 million in support of the Lymphoma Research Foundation's mission of eradicating lymphoma and serving those impacted by this blood cancer. Riders of all skill levels are welcome and can choose to ride a 10, 25, 40 or 50 mile route through the picturesque rolling hills of Maryland. All ages 12+ are welcome to join the Ride. All riders that raise $300 or more receive a branded Team LRF ride jersey.
“Now, with more than a decade of momentum behind the Lymphoma Research Ride, excitement for this year’s Ride has never been higher,” said Dr. Bruce Cheson, MD, FACP, FAAAS, FASCO of Georgetown University Hospital Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center, Past Chair of LRF’s Scientific Advisory Board, and co-founder of the Lymphoma Research Ride. “While we are heading toward 13 years of success with this event, we look forward to more Lymphoma Research Rides and the critical fundraising dollars that it raises to help individuals and their loved ones.”
“We are incredibly grateful to all of those who make this Ride possible and enable LRF to move closer to curing lymphoma by investing in critical research,” said Meghan Gutierrez, LRF Chief Executive Officer at the Lymphoma Research Foundation. “As the Foundation’s most successful Team LRF event year after year, Lymphoma Research Ride continues to be a hallmark event in supporting our mission thanks to the tireless dedication and efforts of Dr. Cheson and the Ride committee.”
