American Vision Partners, one of the largest and fastest growing eye care organizations in the nation, announced the partnership of Prescott, Arizona-based M&M Eye Institute (M&M). The affiliation of the two businesses will improve the quality of care for patients in the Prescott area by bringing more comprehensive vision care services and world-class doctors to the community.

Dr. Scott Markham, Dr. Steven Mortenson and the team at M&M Eye Institute will continue to provide the excellent patient care for which their practice is known. “We could not be more excited about joining American Vision Partners,” Markham said. “They bring world-class physicians and an impressive infrastructure to our team, which will allow our doctors and staff to continue putting patients first. The combination of these great organizations will be an asset to our community and to the patients we serve.”

“This transaction represents a new era of best-in-class eye care in the state of Arizona,” said Kyle A. Bohannon, President & CEO of American Vision Partners. “The partnership between American Vision Partners and M&M will give patients in the Prescott area what they deserve ‒ access to leading-edge technology, new services, more nationally recognized doctors, new services, additional patient education resources and improved electronic medical records systems.”

Comprehensive retina treatment and surgery, oculoplastic surgery and more extensive glaucoma treatments will be added to the scope of services offered at the M&M clinics and surgery center. In the past, many patients have traveled to Phoenix or Flagstaff for these treatments. Now, patients in Prescott and the surrounding areas will be able to receive the care they need in their own community, from the doctors they know and trust.

“We’ve always prided ourselves on treating our patients throughout every stage of life. By accessing the resources of American Vision Partners, we will now be able to provide even more comprehensive care to our beloved community,” said Mortenson.

The partnership with M&M represents the second partnership announced by American Vision Partners in 2018. American Vision Partners partnered with Miles Eye Center in June 2018, bringing comprehensive retina treatment and surgery, advanced cataract technology, cornea and glaucoma specialty care to patients in Show Low, Ariz.
