M. W. Upham, a graduate from Grand Rapids Community College, has completed her new book “Running from Blood”: a gripping and potent story of a woman who must learn to survive in a new environment while pregnant with the vampire king’s child.

Upham writes, “Though she supposed it hardly mattered anymore, that part of her life was over. She knew that since she had already lived there, the castle wouldn’t be taking her back in anytime soon. She had to focus on where she was now. As she walked home, she thought about how she would make enough money for two mouths. In town, she saw lots of stores. Maybe she could get a job at one of them. She saw that a meat-packing company was looking to hire someone. They were probably looking to hire a strong man, but maybe they would hire her instead? She’d have to try at the very least.”

Published by Page Publishing, M. W. Upham’s poignant tale chronicles the story of a woman who is forced to leave her only home and must endure the unknown world while expecting a vampire’s child.

Katherine is a young woman who serves vampire royalty in an old castle hidden away in Germany, and here she was raped by the vampire king. Unfortunately for Katherine, the rape resulted in the creation of a child. Since the king does not want his family members to find out about the pregnancy, he evicts Katherine, solving his problem.

However, Katherine has never left the castle before and she is now being thrown into the unfamiliar and new outside human world. She must find a way to survive while being pregnant with the spawn of a vampire. Readers will find out if she and the child are able to thrive in the human world or if the child will turn out to be like its father, a blood-sucking, heartless monster.

Readers who wish to experience this spellbinding work can purchase “Running from Blood” at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes Store, Amazon, Google Play, or Barnes and Noble.
