TORONTO, Dec. 20, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Manga Hotels has been named Hotelier Magazine's Regional Company of the Year 2018 at the 30th annual Pinnacle Awards honouring top performers in the hotel management and food service industries across Canada.
Manga Hotels' Pinnacle Award was presented in front of over 500 guests at a gala emceed by organizer Kostuch Media Ltd. (KML) editor and publisher Rosanna Caira, and 2017 Pinnacle Award winner Janet Zuccarini, founder and CEO of Gusto 54 Restaurant Group and Top Chef Canada judge.
Considered the "Oscars of hospitality," since their inception in 1988, KML's Pinnacle Awards provide the only full spectrum, national recognition for outstanding achievements in hotels and food & beverage.
In accepting the Pinnacle Award on behalf of her father, Manga Hotels founder, president and CEO Sukhdev Toor, company director Neelu Toor acknowledged the "determination and grit" of his coast-to-coast new immigrant success story starting off with just one 30-room motel 30 years ago and transforming that into 18 current hotel holdings in two countries under multiple major brands including Marriott, Hilton, Intercontinental and Hyatt.
Manga Hotels now encompasses a collection of over 3,300 rooms, with more in the pipeline for both Atlantic Canada and downtown Toronto. Currently the company is working on an over 400-room project in the Greater Toronto Area, Hyatt Place Toronto Airport and the opening of the Hilton Garden Inn, St. John's.
In addition to the new builds coming online, Manga is currently renovating and enhancing Crowne Plaza Toronto Airport, the city's largest airport hotel, Holiday Inn Halifax Airport, and the Atlantica Hotel Halifax, a $60 million total investment.
