Margaret Williams Asprey’s autobiography receives Gold Seal award

It came as little surprise to her and her family then, when she became a nuclear engineer. "One of the wives who came along asked me how I happened to get into such an unusual field for a woman. I said that ‘in our family, something like this just seemed normal since two of my sisters are chemists, one has a degree in physics, one was a statistician with math and physics degrees and two of us are engineers.’ She then asked if there was something about our family that led so many of us to enter such unusual fields for women and I had to say that I really didn’t know. Ever since then, I have been trying to figure it out.”
