Alsana: An Eating Recovery Community, welcomes Dr. Margherita Mascolo as its new Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Mascolo joins Dr. Terry Eagan, Chief Psychiatric Officer and Lyn Goldring, RN, Chief Nursing Officer, to strengthen the integrated medical team leading the implementation of Alsana's innovative Adaptive Care Model.

We warmly welcome Margherita Mascolo, MD, CEDS, as the new Chief Medical Officer at Alsana. Dr. Mascolo brings a wealth of experience with her and will greatly enhance Alsana's medical component of the Adaptive Care Model™. Dr. Mascolo will work closely with Alsana's Chief Psychiatric Officer, Terry Eagan, MD and Chief Nursing Officer, Lyn Goldring, RN,CEDRN on the development and implementation of our medical care.

Dr. Mascolo brings over 10 years of hands-on experience and extensive knowledge in the treatment of eating disorders. Prior to joining Alsana, Dr. Mascolo served as the Medical Director of a leading medical stabilization program for eating disorders in Denver, Colorado. She was a valuable member of that organization since 2008. Initially serving as a Lead Physician, Dr. Mascolo moved up to the role of Associate Medical Director before being promoted to Medical
Director.
After completing her undergraduate work at the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas, Dr. Mascolo earned her medical degree at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center. Her residency was completed in Internal Medicine at the University of Colorado in Denver, where she has been part of the Denver Health staff since 2008. She is also board certified in Internal Medicine and is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of
Colorado School of Medicine.
Currently, Dr. Mascolo is actively involved in resident teaching and research on the medical complications of malnutrition. She has also published multiple peer reviewed articles on the medical complications of eating disorders, traveled nationally and internationally to speak on these complications, and has earned her Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) certification.
