Mark Hill Joins Waterfield Energy as CRO to Position Oil & Gas Cloud Software Innovator for Next Phase of Growth
Waterfield Energy welcomes new Chief Revenue Officer to helm the company's marketing and sales organization and scale its vision for empowering energy companies with a digital first approach to oil & gas business software
TULSA, Okla., Oct. 16, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Waterfield Energy, the emerging leader in upstream and midstream software solutions, announces the appointment of Mark Hill, a proven senior sales and marketing executive, as Chief Revenue Officer (CRO). Waterfield Energy tapped Hill for his three decades of management experience building high performance teams and sales strategies. He is responsible for leading both the marketing and sales organizations and ensuring that Waterfield energy is executing on its go-to-market strategy to take advantage of significant opportunities across the oil & gas value chain. Hill, who is tasked with scaling the company for sustained growth, joins Waterfield Energy at a critical transition point during which the company has seen significant product innovation, strategic acquisitions, and rapidly increasing market share.
"The oil & gas software market has historically been dominated by a few players whose business models rely on cobbling together multiple vintages of technology rather than innovating and aligning offerings with what energy professionals are hungry for," said Mark Hill, Waterfield Energy's new CRO. "You shouldn't have to pay for expensive upgrades on twenty-year-old software or pay extra to get the personal support users need to use it, which is why Waterfield is so attractive to me," he said. Hill added, "Waterfield's vision for a unified software suite that empowers all aspects of the energy value chain in one cohesive platform that runs in the cloud is what the industry has needed and I am thrilled to be part of the next stage of growth."
Hill brings nearly 30 years of experience as a senior executive, sales manager, and technology thought leader to Waterfield Energy. Prior to joining the company, he was President, Western Hemisphere for Ikon Science, the award-winning provider of geoprediction and subsurface data management solutions and served as Senior Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing for P2 Energy Solutions. Hill served as Vice President of Sales at leading energy trading, transportation, and risk management software provider Allegro Development and held software development positions for Divine (formerly Sagemaker) and energy trading firm Dynegy.
"With the fast pace of innovation and growth Waterfield has experienced we needed a proven leader who can take our marketing and sales to the next level while also interpreting customer business needs to ensure we are continuing to deliver exceptional value," said Pete Waldroop, CEO of Waterfield Energy. "Mark is the perfect fit for our new CRO role, and I am proud to welcome him to the executive team where he is already bringing his considerable skills and experience to bear to move us in exciting new directions," he said.
The announcement comes amidst rapid customer growth and strategic product expansion at Waterfield Energy, including acquisition of NeoFirma earlier this year that extended the company's offerings with industry-leading cloud software solutions for upstream oil & gas field operations.
