Since the beginning of man, such narratives have helped establish a sense of common purpose, which is how successful movements are built. I’m excited by the idea of how the narrative-building process can be applied to the companies, projects, and ideas that are transforming our lives.

Christine Birch, former Columbia Pictures marketing chief and entertainment veteran, has launched her new company, The ROYGBIV Collective, which creates powerful strategic narratives for the next generation of entrepreneurs across entertainment, technology, and lifestyle verticals.
Birch’s entertainment marketing skills provide the guiding energy to her new consulting practice. “With all the emphasis on analytics and micro-targeting, it’s tempting to forget that it’s the ‘mythic narrative’ that connects all the dots, and creates emotional resonance. Since the beginning of man, such narratives have helped establish a sense of common purpose, which is how successful movements are built,” said Birch. “I’m excited by the idea of how the narrative-building process can be applied to the companies, projects, and ideas that are transforming our lives.”
Birch, who immigrated to the US from the island of Jamaica at the age of 3, showed early signs of ingenuity, teaching herself to read and write before kindergarten. This sophistication and resourcefulness led her to the Ivy League (Dartmouth College), New York publishing (Scholastic & Random House), and eventually, Hollywood where her storied career in film marketing, generated billions of dollars in global revenue with campaigns for blockbusters like Transformers, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle, as well as the Academy Award winners The Help, The Theory of Everything and The Danish Girl.
“Working with Christine is a truly memorable experience,” said Beth Rice, Founder, and Partner at Rice McVaney Communications, who collaborated with Christine on a variety of film campaigns at Sony. “She was on a mission to bring a new level of excellence to movie marketing, and her leadership and determination to succeed was relentless and impressive. She is a big thinker, a catalyst for change and a source of inspiration to everyone around her.”
Birch’s first non-entertainment project, Pi Network, exemplifies her mission. Partnering with Social Chain Inc., a Silicon Valley startup, Birch worked alongside founders Dr. Nicolas Kokalis, Dr. Chengdiao Fan, and Vincent McPhillip to formulate the vision for Pi Network, a new “social cryptocurrency.” Pi Network has exploded since its March launch (on Pi Day) and is now the fastest-growing cryptocurrency platform in the world.
“Pi Network encapsulates the type of project I love working on because it shows that, whether it’s a film or a pioneering tech platform, it’s always the emotional narrative that spurs people to take action,” explained Birch.
Birch is also going bicoastal, joining the board of directors of Stocks & Securities LTD (SSL), a premier venture capital company that develops and partners with local entrepreneurs on her native island of Jamaica. As part of these efforts, Birch is developing plans for a new luxury spa on the island, which will feature the rich history and therapeutic properties of Jamaica’s indigenous herbal healing, including a cannabis-focused regimen.
