Spizzirri has worked in executive administration and office management throughout her career. She retired from her corporate career back in 2017 and was happy gardening and raising chickens in Colorado, but she and her husband also wanted to move closer to their family in Illinois. When they finally moved to Sugar Grove, Spizzirri found herself looking for something more.
"As I was thinking about what I wanted to do next, I found a post about Caring Transitions on NextDoor, which is how I found out about the existing offices and the work Caring Transitions does. My research inspired me to come out of retirement to open my own franchise to serve the community," Spizzirri said. "In addition to positively impacting families, I'm looking forward to using Caring Transitions to improve the environment. When you clear out a home, it would be easier for everything without significant monetary value to go to landfill, but that's not how we operate. We will go out of our way to make sure anything that's left behind gets to the right place, whether that's with a new family, at a donation center or upcycled. We want the things our clients loved to be loved again."
