DURHAM, N.C., Sept. 28, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- McAdams, a multidisciplinary civil engineering, land planning, landscape architecture and geomatics firm announced today their plan for expansion of its corporate footprint to downtown Raleigh's Bloc[83]. This new space, consisting of 55,000 square feet, will be located on two floors of the development's Tower Two. Workforce expansion, attracting talent, proximity to clients and projected growth of the region all factored into this decision.
While the headquarters of the company will shift to Bloc[83], McAdams will maintain its western Triangle location with a 20,000-square foot presence on Meridian Parkway in Durham. This will give McAdams employees flexibility on where they work in the Triangle. McAdams has added 150 employees since January 2020 with 97 of those new hires in the Triangle market. This brings the total employee count to 359 company-wide; 240 being in the Triangle.
McAdams currently has 10,000 square feet of office space in the One Glenwood building, part of the Bloc[83] development. Employees have found that Bloc[83] caters to the shift in desired workplace environment attributes, which provides increased walkability; highly designed workspaces that encourage employee engagement and teambuilding; and access to other amenities that elevate their corporate experience. All current Raleigh employees will relocate into the new office space once complete, tentatively scheduled for mid-2022.

The Bloc[83] location is particularly special for McAdams as this is a showcase development project for the firm in conjunction with Heritage Properties. Being able to design a space for the future of the company that can bring teams together in an attractive and desirable location, which highlights its commitment to people and the communities it serves, was a key consideration.
