McDonald Named Venture Partner at Boomerang Ventures
Boomerang Ventures, Indiana's newest venture capital fund, announced that John McDonald has joined the organization as a Venture Partner.
FISHERS, Ind., Feb. 13, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Boomerang Ventures, Indiana's newest venture capital fund, announced that John McDonald has joined the organization as a Venture Partner.
"We are honored that John would lend his considerable talent in building and guiding technology companies and teams to helping us build Indiana's newest venture capital fund," said Oscar Moralez, Managing Partner, Boomerang Ventures.
According to the Kaufmann Foundation, all new job roles are created by businesses five years old or less, meaning that new startups and entrepreneurism, especially in the tech sector, are vital to our state's future survival in the digital economy. Indiana, and the Midwest in general, are in critical need of a stronger, more supportive ecosystem.
"Many are already familiar with John's work in leading the Technology and Innovation Policy Committee of the Indiana Chamber of Commerce, as well as his role in starting and leading the Indiana Technology and Innovation Association, which serves to advocate for public policy and political action for the Technology industry," says Tom Kilcoyne, Managing Partner, Boomerang Ventures. "As a Venture Partner at Boomerang, he will now work to form new startup companies to help grow our industry here in Indiana and beyond."
John formerly served as Chief Executive Officer of ClearObject since the company's founding in 2010, through and beyond its sale to private equity in 2019. He will continue to serve as ClearObject's Founder and Chief Evangelist.
Founded in 2019, Boomerang Ventures is the fund by entrepreneurs, for entrepreneurs, with entrepreneurs. As Indiana's newest venture capital fund, it seeks to build companies while building the entrepreneurial ecosystem locally and beyond. For more information visit Boomerang.vc.
