“Jerry Lewis dedicated his life to raise billions of dollars in global awareness for this disease. I am proud to help carry on his legacy in doing the little bit that I can," said Dawn Alba.

The team at Engineered Tax Services has been greatly involved in philanthropy throughout the South Florida community over the years. CEO, Julio Gonzalez, has even allowed employees to use work hours to participate. That’s why team members jumped at the chance to donate to the Muscular Dystrophy Association’s 2017 premier fundraising program: MDA Lock-Up. In-House General Counsel, Dawn Alba, was nominated to be “arrested” and put in to Ruth Chris’ jail at City Place in West Palm Beach, Florida. She won’t be released until she raises her “bail money” for MDA. The team behind her could not be more supportive. Engineered Tax Services’ employees and friends are sure to help her “break out of jail”, which will in turn help families break free from muscular dystrophy and related diseases.
“Jerry Lewis dedicated his life to raise billions of dollars in global awareness for this disease. I am proud to help carry on his legacy in doing the little bit that I can,“ said Dawn Alba.
The final day to donate to this cause and help Dawn break free is October 19th. She will be “held captive” at Ruth Chris Steak House from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Every dollar she raises through the MDA Lock-Up helps families in the South Florida community and beyond. You can help Dawn reach her goal here.
About MDA Lock-Up
The MDA Lock-Up is the primary fundraising event for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The Lock-Ups occur all over the United States at various times throughout the year. Business and community leaders, like Dawn Alba, agree to be “put behind bars” and utilize friends, coworkers, family, and the community to get donations that will go towards their “bail”. Each “jailbird” in the Lock-Up has two weeks to raise donations. On the final day, the participants will gather at a reception to enjoy the Lock-Up finale and network with other “jailbirds” about the good they are doing for MDA and for their community. All donations from the Lock-Up assist the Association in providing a nationwide network of medical clinics, summer camps for individuals and families affected by neuromuscular diseases, and lifesaving research.
