MEA Bestows the 2019 Distinguished Environmental Professional Award to Mark Collins, Retiree of We Energies
BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (PRWEB) March 26, 2019 -- MEA Energy Association (MEA) recognizes Mark Collins of We Energies (retired) with the 2019 Distinguished Environmental Professional Award for his accomplishments over 30 years of employment in the environmental field. Collins worked as a Supervisory Hydrogeologist with the USEPA for six years and was a Principal Consultant with We Energies for 26 years. Collins served in multiple environmental areas such as remediation, waste, recycling, and disposal.
Chad Tameling, executive vice president, SET Environmental, Inc. worked with Collins as a service provider. Tameling said, “Mark has always taken on leadership roles [within the company] and with outside stakeholder groups like MEA. During his tenure at We Energies, Mark assembled excellent teams of professionals for our waste recycling and disposal program. His vision and leadership helped We Energies create a world class waste management program, saving the company tens of thousands of dollars, as well as increasing compliance performance in the company areas of operation.”
Collins was presented the MEA Distinguished Environmental Award at the recent Environmental Leadership Learning Conference in Scottsdale, Ariz. The MEA Distinguished Environmental Award program is an initiative of the MEA Environmental Committee, whose purpose is to provide resources and educational opportunities to the energy industry on the diverse set of environmental issues related to both the management of environmental liabilities as well as those encountered in the field.
