Great for use as a stand-alone German Equatorial Mount (GEM) or maximize viewing potential with an array of different optical tubes.

The LX85 Series is offered in eight various configurations. Choose from a 5" Achromatic Refractor or a 6" Maksutov-Cassegrain for lunar and planetary viewing, 6" & 8" Newtonian Reflector for versatility, or the amazing 6" & 8" Advanced Coma-Free (ACF™) models for deep-sky views. The LX85 even offers Meade's Series 6000 Apochromatic Refractors (APO) paired with the GEM- including the 70mm Astrograph, 80mm & 115 APOs. The LX85 configurations range in price from $799 to $2,499.
The LX85 GEM features a vixen-style dovetail receiver and is built to ensure smooth tracking performance. It has the capability to track through long exposures using Meade's Smart Drive feature and has an integrated auto-guider port for astrophotography. The included AudioStar® hand controller provides easy access to over 30,000 objects to navigate the night sky. The LX85 Series telescopes will be available for sale through the Meade network of retailers, with deliveries starting in September 2018.
