Mediaplanet and Love without Boundaries Team Up to Fight for Kids in Need around the World
Mediaplanet's Global Action for Children campaign found within USA Today and online, features key partner Love without Boundaries, a global nonprofit changing the lives of kids around the world.
NEW YORK, Nov. 20, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Helping to kick-off Giving Tuesday, Mediaplanet today announces the launch of its first edition of "Global Action for Children". This campaign will educate readers on the issues affecting kids in low-income communities, and highlight the organizations supporting global childhood wellness. With this campaign, Mediaplanet and its key partners have an opportunity to inspire readers to support kids in need during the season of giving.
Love without Boundaries - http://www.lovewithoutboundaries.com/ - works in multiple low-income communities to fight for children's well-being including Cambodia, China, Kenya and more! Some of the biggest challenges kids in these communities' face include homelessness, abuse, and lack of medical attention to non-communicable diseases including Down Syndrome. Because of this, the organization has worked hard to be able to provide proper medical care and foster solutions for kids in need.
In 2018, Love without Boundaries contributed to the lives of many families by supporting the medical needs of children in poverty. For example, they were able to help a young teen in Uganda who suffered a rare condition. Named Grace, the young teen's abdomen began to grow rapidly a few years ago- to the point where she found it difficult to sit or even breathe, and her failing health caused her to drop out of school.
LWB arranged for medical testing for Grace and learned that she had a rare condition where thousands of small tumors were growing inside her abdomen. Through an incredible series of events, Dr. Hayes-Jordan, one of the top pediatric surgeons for her condition, agreed to fly to Africa in order to help her. Grace endured a 26-hour operation and months of recovery in the hospital in Kenya to return at last to her home and to school.
Her dream of becoming a doctor herself motivated her to rise from behind and claim the top place in her class. LWB supporters came together as a community to fund another year of education for not only Grace but also for her two younger siblings. Love Without Boundaries continues to stand with Grace and fight for her good health.
The print component of "Global Action for Children" is distributed within today's edition of USA Today in Chicago, Los Angeles, Denver, San Francisco, New York and Washington DC/Baltimore markets, with a circulation of approximately 250,000 copies and an estimated readership of 750,000. The digital component is distributed nationally, through a vast social media strategy, and across a network of top news sites and partner outlets.
