Teachers also feel the burden of the school year, spending an average of $700 dollars out of pocket to supply their classrooms when schools cannot. Many students return to school empty-handed, which greatly inhibits their confidence in the classroom. Although school supplies, literacy tools and learning resources can improve student’s confidence and academic success, there is still a large disparity of these assets across the nation for schools that need them the most.
