MediExcel Health Plan and MAAC Partner to Improve Education Opportunities for South Bay High Schoolers
CHULA VISTA, Calif. (PRWEB) July 25, 2018 -- MediExcel Health Plan, a California HMO specializing in Binational Healthcare, presented MAAC Community Charter School (MCCS) with a donation check of five-thousand dollars ($5,000) this past Monday, July 23rd, 2018, to help support new academic tools for low-income students.
“This generous investment in our school will allow us to offer innovative education opportunities to our students by purchasing up-to-date laboratory equipment and digital books,” stated Tommy Ramirez, MCCS Director. “Many of our students come from low-income homes throughout San Diego County and may have difficulty buying supplies or investing in school property. We are able to continue providing quality education and bring our students one step closer to self-sufficiency because of donations from organizations such as MediExcel. We are very thankful and excited about our growing relationship.”
This donation builds on a long-term partnership between MediExcel Health Plan and MAAC, the nonprofit organization that makes MAAC Community Charter School possible.
“MediExcel is committed to investing in the communities we serve. By partnering with MAAC and assisting their efforts of helping young adults access education through technology, we are not only impacting the lives of the students but everyone in our communities,” said Dr. Santiago Hernandez, CEO for MediExcel Health Plan. “We are delighted to continue our strong partnership.”
