NEW YORK, March 14, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- New York Wine Events is pleased to announce the return of its popular Day Trip to Wine Country tours, running Saturdays, Sundays and select summer Thursdays from April 6 to November 16, 2019. Prior to 2019, the tours visited LI Wine Country. This year, the engaging day trips expand to the Hudson Valley region. All tours include roundtrip transportation aboard luxury motor coaches departing a convenient Midtown location at 9am, returning to the city at approximately 6pm.
Led by knowledgeable wine connoisseurs and sommeliers, the tours visit two award-winning wineries per excursion, sampling 4-5 selections at each. Spending an enjoyable 90 minutes at each winery, guests are hosted by winemakers and key vineyard personnel and gain wonderful insight into how the wine was made during friendly, informative chats and tastings with ample opportunity to ask questions. Wineries included in this season's Long Island tours include Jamesport Vineyards, Martha Clara Vineyards, Pellegrini Vineyards, Pindar Vineyards, and Lenz Winery. Hudson Valley wine tours include Benmarl Winery, Robibero Family Vineyards, Stoutridge Vineyard, Whitecliff Vineyard & Winery and others. Guests not only taste some of the region's finest wines but also enjoy an array of special locally sourced pairings that include cheeses, breads, and olives and artisanal sandwiches including Turkey, Brie & Fig Jam, Mozzarella with Tomato & Basil Pesto, Prosciutto and Mozzarella with Roasted Red Peppers, and Salami with Provolone & Arugula.
All tours include a farm stand stop where freshly baked pies, local produce and other treats are available for purchase. Additionally, when visiting the wineries, guests are offered special discounts on purchases of bottles, multi-packs, and wine club memberships so they can continue to relish their favorite selections at home.
"Day Trip to Wine Country tours are fun, relaxing, educational – and all about wine!," notes New York Wine Event founder Sam Kimball, curator of the series. "The tours are a great way to learn about and enjoy some of New York State's most heralded wineries along with dining on delicious local fare, and taking in gorgeous scenery, just a short trip from the city."
Last year, New York Wine Events' popular Day Trip to Wine Country series booked up weeks in advance and this year's lively, educational, and scenic tours are slated to do the same. Prepared for all weather conditions, activities are indoors during cooler or inclement weather and protected from the elements during warm, sunny days so guests can savor the experience in comfort.
Day Trip to Wine Country tickets are on sale now, priced at $165 per person. Check the New York Wine Events web site for details about limited time discounts, multi-ticket savings, and group discounts.
