megustaescribir, a Spanish language writers’ network which began in 2008 from Random House’s then-Spanish publishing division, is being relaunched on November 25 and on Tuesday launched an innovative supported self-publishing platform. Designed to provide Spanish authors a wide array of quality publishing, marketing and distribution services, this new offering is powered by Author Solutions, LLC (AS LLC).

As the supported self-publishing platform of Penguin Random House Grupo Editorial—one of the world’s most admired and successful Spanish language trade publishers—megustaescribir aims to give authors a comprehensive self-publishing experience. They can choose from a variety of self-publishing packages based on their needs and goals. megustaescribir also makes available a host of services, including editing, cover design, distribution in digital and print formats, personal websites, book videos and opportunities to showcase books at Spanish-language book fairs. megustaescribir also offers the only Spanish-language self-publishing recognition program.

megustaescribir represents the fourth international self-publishing imprint AS LLC will power in collaboration with Penguin Random House. In February 2013, Penguin Books India and AS LLC established the first international imprint, Partridge India, followed by Partridge Singapore and Africa in March 2014 and April 2014 respectively. Author Solutions has also established self-publishing imprints in the U.S. with Simon and Schuster, Harper Collins Christian Publishing and Hay House.

“After successful launches of these supported self-publishing imprints in three very different international marketplaces, we’re confident that megustaescribir will achieve similar success in Spain,” commented Andrew Phillips, AS LLC president and CEO. “Over the years, we have helped nearly 200,000 authors bring to market close to a quarter of a million Englishlanguage titles across five continents. Now we are excited to be able to also help Spanish-language writers get their start at becoming published authors.”
