ST. THOMAS, U.S. Virgin Islands, May 20, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Today MEI Global LLC (MEIG), a leader in helping publishers monetize their digital assets, announced the addition of Dave Oakley as Vice President of Licensing and Client Development. Formerly the Senior Director of Licensing at LexisNexis, Oakley brings more than 30 years of experience in the information industry.
"I've worked directly with MEIG for more than a decade and have long admired their ability to discover and exploit new revenue channels for content," Oakley said. "I'm excited to be part of a team that so effectively pairs demand for content with publishers' digital assets." In his role at MEIG, Oakley will work with vendors on the licensing of publishers' content and with prospective publisher clients to show them the ways MEIG can help them extend the reach of their content and grow their licensing revenue.
MEIG was founded by Randall Marcinko to address the difficulty publishers experience developing new licensing opportunities, which is frequently due to a shortage of in-house licensing personnel. "The market for content and the associated business models evolve rapidly. In a world of declining budgets, publishers are all too often forced to focus on publishing operations at the expense of a strategic focus on distribution," said Marcinko. "Without the time and resources to focus on licensing or an in-depth understanding of the significant upside it can generate, publishers miss out on lucrative new markets. Adding Dave to the team further empowers MEIG to stay abreast of new markets and emerging vendor channels."
Dave joins a team of seasoned professionals representing more than 120 years of licensing experience, including Chris Broekhoff, President; Andrea Ramsden-Cooke, Senior Vice President of Business Development and Licensing Counsel and Nancy Davis Kho, Vice President of Business Development.
"To successfully navigate today's complex licensing landscape, publishers turn to MEIG for guidance and negotiating expertise," explained Chris Broekhoff, MEIG's President. He added, "Many publishers have been loyal clients for more than a decade because we bring licensing acumen, professionalism, and a commitment to safeguarding their intellectual property."
