Meller Optics Introduces Sapphire Prisms for Performing Precise Refraction Measurements on Moving Liquids and Slurries
New custom fabricated sapphire prisms that are ideally suited for use in instruments that measure moving liquids and slurries in real-time have been introduced by Meller Optics, Inc.
PROVIDENCE, R.I., Feb. 15, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Meller Optics, Inc. has introduced custom fabricated sapphire prisms that are ideally suited for use in instruments that measure moving liquids and slurries in real-time.
Meller Sapphire Prisms feature Mohs 9 hardness to provide the wear resistance necessary for any instrument using light refraction as a measurement technique. Polished to 20-10 scratch dig or better on rectan-gular surfaces, they can be manufactured in sizes from 1/2" to 4" on each leg of a right angle; with custom angles and a tolerance of 3 to 10 mins.
A far more durable replacement for glass or quartz, Meller Sapphire Prisms are chemically inert and designed for use in demanding fluid measurement applications. Second only to diamond in terms of hardness, these prisms are offered in various equilateral, right angle, trapezoid, and triangle configurations; fabricated to OEM specifications.
Meller Sapphire Prisms are priced according to configuration, size, and quantity. Price quotations are available upon request.
