NEWARK, N.J., June 20, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- SocietyX, a new members-only community and experiential incubator, is dedicated to uniting creatives, artists, and entrepreneurs through giving back to the community. Case in point, SocietyX announced today the company is organizing an art mural initiative at the Salvation Army at 699 Springfield Avenue in Newark, which will be painted Monday, June 24 through Wednesday, June 26 by local artist and social activist Magda Love.
Volunteers are invited to help prime the building exterior on Sunday, June 23, and the community is also invited to the ribbon cutting ceremony and community day on July 2, with Newark Mayor Ras Baraka.
"We are absolutely thrilled to have SocietyX organizing this exciting mural initiative with the talented artist Magda Love, who uses her work to promote love and community," Baraka said. "It is always inspiring when members of the community take the initiative to pour their talents and time into the city of Newark—especially when they are as passionate and big-hearted as Jaclyn Rosenberg and Magda Love."
SocietyX CEO Jaclyn Rosenberg has a long history of community activism and charitable contributions as the owner of the RoseMark Group, which she plans to amplify as an extension of SocietyX's mission. She helped organize the first annual Newark Turkey Drive in 2019 with Brooklyn Net Star Kenneth Farried and Mayor Ras Baraka, in partnership with Whole Foods Market and The Salvation Army. She has also organized backpack drives for the Salvation Army in Newark, which she continues to do.
"This mural project, designed to give the Salvation Army a colorful makeover, is the first of many projects I'm launching in Newark to give back to the community," Rosenberg said. "We create and inspire through experiential community engagement at SocietyX, and we want to encourage others to do the same. I'd like to invite sponsors and volunteers to get involved with this exciting mural by donating paint or refreshments, and also priming the building."
