memoryBlue Announces New Partnership with Year Up
Program Offers Life-Changing Opportunity for Underserved Young Adults
TYSONS, Va., Jan. 29, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- memoryBlue and Year Up today announced the start of a new partnership which will provide critical access to a solid professional career path for urban young adults. These individuals have lacked opportunity and access to traditional higher education, but they demonstrate all the personal traits necessary to succeed in the modern business world.
The program kicks-off with two full-time individuals starting work out of memoryBlue's DC Metro headquarters, where they will develop and hone professional sales skills while helping a range of high-tech companies generate new business opportunities. Throughout their engagement, they will take part in a rigorous sales skills training program which combines a variety of learning methods designed specifically for skill retention and application. Acquiring these valuable skills will immensely impact their career trajectory and place them on a path for long-term personal success.
"The Year Up organization is making incredible futures possible for motivated young adults," said Kristen Wisdorf, Managing Director of the DC Metro headquarters for memoryBlue. "We're thrilled to join their cause as we bring two of their brightest stars onto our team and expose them to the dynamic world of professional high-tech sales."
All Year Up students take part in a one-year, intensive training program that provides talented and motivated, yet underserved young adults, with a combination of hands-on skills development, coursework eligible for college credit, corporate experience, and wraparound support. The program emphasizes academic and professional rigor, setting expectations high for quality of work and professional behavior. Year Up is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization headquartered in Boston, MA, with additional offices located in numerous cities across the country.
"This partnership between Year Up and memoryBlue is a perfect match," said memoryBlue Co-Founder and Managing Partner Chris Corcoran. "Together we're able to help close the opportunity divide that many young people currently face. I'm thrilled to gain access to a valuable talent pool deep with high potential young adults who are driven to succeed. I see this program becoming a key talent pipeline and expanding it to our other offices."
