Men's Clothing Brand The Territory Ahead Returns to Roots with Fall/Winter 2019 Collection
Going on a cross-country road trip with its latest collection, The Territory Ahead weaves distinctive aspects from the Southwest, Pacific Northwest, and Adirondacks into its new shirts, pants, and jackets.
BOSTON, Sept. 12, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- From its start in California in 1989, The Territory Ahead veered away from trends and, instead, aligned with the spirit of Mark Twain's The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. Reflecting this, collections balanced detailed construction with editorial and photographs from destinations across the globe. In more recent years, the company moved to the Boston area, and catalog themes shifted to the general pursuit of adventure. Now, finishing up its 30th year, The Territory Ahead is reinvigorating its initial mission with a cross-country road trip-themed collection for Fall/Winter 2019.
The first stop, the Southwest covers a handful of long-time customer favorites and introduces new styles, in vibrant orange, turquoise, and blue and often inspired by regional destinations – for instance, the Rocky Mountains, Havasu Falls, New Mexico, and Phoenix. From here, the journey heads northward to the cool, wooded coastal shores of the Pacific Northwest and New England, with deep blue and dark green-based prints, in addition to new loungewear and Baja hoodies.
Into the Adirondacks, the collection shifts to thicker, heavier layering pieces – sweaters, flannels, shirt jacs, and a new Mission Comfort pant – in shades of brown and navy. Casual, easily layered fare then transitions into the more technically-featured Travel Collection, which centers around wrinkle- and water-resistant fabrics and hidden pockets. Turning downtown for the evening, the selection closes with a series of patterned purple and charcoal button-fronts and investment-quality leather jackets, including an expanded Falcon Bluff series.
Later in the season, the Adventure Seekers line adds a more active component, factoring in the features and properties needed to excel off the beaten path. For everyday-to-outdoor wear, this lineup encompasses a waterproof 4-in-1 jacket system, puffer vest, hiking pants, and fleece.
About The Territory Ahead
Kicking off in Santa Barbara, Calif., in the late 1980s, The Territory Ahead has spent the past three decades designing and curating a men's clothing collection that brings together vibrant patterns and details with well-crafted fabrics. Now owned by Distinctive Apparel International, the company has unveiled several definitive products over its lifespan: the A-List T-Shirts, made with midweight Peruvian cotton; Old Steamboat's and Mañana corduroys; the ever-expanding series of Mission Comfort pants; and the Falcon Bluff jackets, now in leather, suede, and nubuck. In addition, the simultaneous pursuits of adventure and comfort have resulted in a series of cotton-linen denim garments and washable wool travel apparel.
