Mercy Medical Center Named One of the Nation's Safest Hospitals, Earning Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade "A" for Fall 2020
Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, MD, has been awarded an "A" in the Fall 2020 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade, a national distinction recognizing Mercy's achievements protecting patients from harm and providing safer health care.
BALTIMORE, Dec. 15, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Mercy Medical Center has been awarded an "A" in the Fall 2020 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade, a national distinction recognizing Mercy's achievements protecting patients from harm and providing safer health care.
Mercy, which also earned Leapfrog's "A" safety rating in both the Spring and Fall of 2019, is one of six hospitals in Baltimore to receive an "A," ranking it among the safest hospitals in the United States.
The Leapfrog Group is an independent national watchdog organization committed to health care quality and safety. The Safety Grade assigns an 'A', 'B', 'C', 'D' or 'F' grade to all general hospitals across the country and is updated every six months. It is based on a hospital's performance in preventing medical errors, injuries, accidents, infections and other harms to patients in their care.
