Meridian, an industry-leading manufacturer of indoor and outdoor kiosks, interactive digital signage, and self-service software recently announced their international expansion into the United Kingdom.
The new franchise, Meridian Digital Solutions Limited, is based in Leicestershire—around 90 miles northwest of London, and will serve all European markets, including the UK.
“We are excited to announce our expansion into the United Kingdom,” said Meridian CEO, Chris Gilder. “The launch of Meridian Digital Solutions will enable us to continue growing and better serve our international markets, especially when it comes to the UK and Europe.”

Established in 1999, Meridian has offered American-made kiosks to a global marketplace for 20 years. Meridian’s 13-acre headquarters in Aberdeen, North Carolina is home to the company’s administrative buildings, design and engineering studios, fabrication operations—including lasers, press brakes, turret punches, pem machines, welding, grinding, and painting—assembly, integration, shipping facilities, and product research & development.
While all manufacturing operations initially will remain at Meridian’s Aberdeen location, Meridian Digital Solutions will manage all European prospecting, sales, and consulting. A select group of Meridian’s standard model indoor and outdoor kiosks and digital signage solutions will be offered. “Initially we are concentrating our efforts on tourism, hospitality, and retail,” said Viner. “We will also be focusing on the locker solutions as we help companies increase the options available to their customers with 24-hour and unattended access.”
The launch of Meridian Digital Solutions is Meridian’s second international expansion. The first came a decade ago, in 2009, when Meridian acquired Canada-based King Products and Solutions which now serves as their Mzero software division which operates in Mississauga Canada.
In addition to expanding internationally, Meridian continues to grow and improve their headquarters too. In 2019 alone, the company expanded their assembly and fabrication facilities as well as their operations leadership team. “As the demand for self-service solutions continues to grow, we intend to do the same,” said Gilder.
