Latina Podcasters, a Latina and certified minority-owned and operated global podcast network group, announces the debut of the "Angelicales Podcast" with well-known Mexican telenovela actresses and recording artists Angélica María and her daughter Angélica Vale on the Latina Podcasters Network, one of the network group's subsidiary networks.
HOUSTON, March 9, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Latina Podcasters, a Latina and certified minority-owned and operated global podcast network group, announces the debut of the "Angelicales Podcast" with well-known Mexican telenovela actresses and recording artists Angélica María and her daughter Angélica Vale on the Latina Podcasters Network, one of the network group's subsidiary networks.
Presented in Spanish, the weekly podcast will launch on International Women's Day, March 8.
This podcast will deliver hilarious conversations between the American-Mexican actress, Angélica María nicknamed "La Novia de Mexico" (Mexico's sweetheart), and Mexican-American daughter Angélica Vale, known for her work on the wildly popular telenovela "La Fea Mas Bella." María and Vale, who both are on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, will share the behind-the-scenes footage of their lives behind the camera with their audiences, and invite special celebrity friends to share conversations about the entertainment industry.
"These women are icons and were part of anyone's household growing up watching telenovelas," said Rita Bautista, the network's Latina founder and CEO. "Angélica María was someone's grandmother, mother, and aunt who we grew up with on these shows. Angélica Vale was also extremely well known and now continues to gather much acclaim as she just received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame."
María's singing credits include "El hombre de mi vida" (The man of my life); "Reina Y Cenicienta" (Queen and Cinderella); Prohibido (Prohibited); and "El Taconazo." Her acting work includes the television shows "Tres Generaciones," "El Factor X" and "Angélica María Show" and several telenovelas such as "Mi Corazon Insiste," "Corazon salvaje" and "Que bonito amor," and "Yara." Translated in over 80 languages, the telenovela "Muchachita Italiana Viene a Casarse" catapulted María to international success and stardom.
Currently, María will have a recurring role for season two of the Netflix program called "The Lincoln Lawyer." She will portray Elena, the mother of Mickey and a major film and television actress. "The Lincoln Lawyer" is about an idealistic lawyer named Mickey Haller who operates his practice out of the back of his Lincoln Town Car and takes cases across Los Angeles.
María's other achievements include being the woman who started the ranchera Balada Genre when she decided to include mariachi to her songs—something that was never done before. She also remains the only Mexican singer to fill two back-to-back shows on the same day in New York's Madison Square Garden Arena.
Vale's television work includes "No me hallo," "La Parodia" and "Los Lopeggs."" She also released her self-titled album "Angelica Vale," contributed to the "La Fea Mas Bella" soundtrack, and joined her mother on "Dinastia: Angélica Vale y Angélica María."
Bautista explained that the women came to her attention when she was introduced to them by Jose Quintero, a podcaster from Latino Pods, one of the network group's subsidiary networks.
"We scheduled a Zoom call to talk with Vale," she said. "What was beautiful was that her mother was at her house when we were on the call, and I pitched them the podcast to have both of them on it. They loved the idea."
The women also have large followings on social media. Vale attracts 1.3 million TikTok followers, 1.7 million on Instagram, 2.1 million on FaceBook, 2.6 million on Twitter, and 220,000 on YouTube. María has 295,000 Twitter followers, 215,000 on FaceBook: 200,000 on YouTube, and 66,000 on Instagram.
"They are hilarious, sweet, funny, but most of all, it's their likeability and connection to the Mexican culture that makes them so popular and relatable to people," Bautista said. "Not to mention, they are extremely talented and generational icons of the entertainment industry."
Vale expressed her excitement about joining Latina Podcasters.
"I love that Rita is a Latina who is building this growing network on her own," she said. "My mother and I are proud to host a podcast that lets us share with our fanbase our experiences working in both Mexico and the United States and our relationship. We cannot wait to connect with women our personal stories on and off the stage."
