Mexico Police Unit Trains on Scientology-Supported Drug Education Initiative
(PRWEB) July 26, 2013 -- To ensure youth in Mexico are provided with the information they need to make informed decisions to live drug-free, the Social Reform Office of the National Scientology Organization of Mexico helped organize and conduct a training program July 8-12 for the Mexico City Police Unit for School Safety.
Among the functions these officers carry out is drug education and prevention in Mexico City schools. They are aware of the devastating impact of drugs on the education, health and lives of young people.
More than 100 officers in the unit attended the workshop on the Truth About Drugs educational program where they learned to conduct drug education using the 13 Truth About Drugs booklets, public service announcements and a feature-length documentary.
The police officers recognized the tools provided through the Truth About Drugs program as a way to reach young people with effective, fact-based education before they start to experiment with drugs.
For more than two and a half decades, Scientologists on five continents have been empowering others with the truth about drugs. The Church and its members are dedicated to eradicating drug abuse through education.
