Leading Affordable Housing Construction Firm Adds Industry Veteran to Support the Firm’s Philanthropic Efforts

Sarah Buchanan, MFRG-ICON’s new Director of Philanthropy, will support the firm’s philanthropic efforts and make a lasting impact in the communities in which MFRG-ICON works closely.

MFRG-ICON Construction, a leader in construction solutions for the occupied renovation of affordable multifamily and senior housing communities, recently brought on Sarah Buchanan as Director of Philanthropy to support the firm’s philanthropic efforts and make a lasting impact in the communities in which MFRG-ICON works closely.

In this new role, Buchanan is responsible for developing an overall philanthropic and marketing strategy that will drive profitability, brand consistency, and overall market growth. She will provide visionary, strategic leadership to build strong relationships with the goal of generating charitable contributions to support MFRG-ICON’s current and future goals. She will work closely with the Director of Corporate Strategy to develop and update new or existing charitable giving opportunities nationwide.

Buchanan is an active member of the event industry and believes in giving back to the community and industry through volunteering, fundraising, creating standards of excellence, and raising the bar of professionalism. As an avid volunteer, she dedicates her free time to the LGBTQ+ community, youth music instruction, in addition to assisting with special events for nonprofit organizations.

I am eager to bring my experience in philanthropy and event production to further MFRG-ICON’s vision and efforts to make a lasting legacy," said Buchanan.

Buchanan earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and Native American studies from the University of Oklahoma. She was recognized as a finalist for the Woman to Watch Award at the 2020 Women of Influence Awards by Connected Women of Influence, and winner by San Diego Metro for the Woman of Influence Award and 40 Under 40 Award in 2020.
