MGO Announces New Roles for Key Firm Leaders on the East Coast

MGO(Macias Gini & O’Connell LLP), one of the fastest-growing professional services firms in the US, announced today three major personnel changes to the firm that will positively impact MGO’s performance and generate greater traction toward its commitment to specialize in turning deep industry expertise into visionary solutions.

Maria Sanjurjo will now serve as MGO’s Office Managing Partner of the Company’s Long Island office. Maria joined MGO when the Company acquired the New York-based firm Schwartz & Company in September, 2019, where she served as an assurance partner. With over 20 years of public accounting experience, she has worked with investment advisors, investment funds, high-net-worth individuals and middle market companies for over 17 years.

Steven Kreit will now serve as the Office Managing Partner for MGO’s New York City office. Steven was previously an assurance partner in MGO’s New York City office where he leads the firm’s SEC practice. Steve has more than 25 years of experience auditing public companies and working with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Steven regularly leads training sessions on assurance topics, including Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, audit methodology, and risk-related issues. He is regularly quoted by the financial media on a broad range of assurance-related subjects.

Richard Paris will now move into the role of MGO’s Tri State Leader. Richard served as the Managing Partner for MGO’s New York City office and has over 28 years of leadership experience in the accounting field. Richard’s focus is on managing MGO’s East Coast presence, specifically growing MGO’s services including assurance, tax, and advisory services as well as MGO’s China practice.

The Company’s success originated on the West Coast, but has since experienced tremendous growth in the Midwest, New York, and the East Coast in general. With its recent acquisition of Schwartz & Co., which added 35 more professionals into the firm, for a nationwide total of over 475, the additional New York staff will enable the firm to continue to expand its international finance and tax work.
