Miami Valley Research Park Welcomes Xerion
Dayton, OH (PRWEB) December 19, 2016 -- Xerion Advanced Battery Corp recently relocated all its operations from Colorado and Illinois into its new headquarters in the Miami Valley Research Park. Xerion, an early-stage nanotechnology company dedicated to the commercialization of flexible, high-power, high-energy lithium-ion batteries, has signed a long-term lease for approximately 20,000 square feet of office, lab, and manufacturing space in the 3100 building.
Charlie Giles, president and ceo of the Miami Valley Research Park, commented, “We are very pleased that Xerion decided to centralize all its operations into the Miami Valley Research Park. Xerion will be joining companies that are the driving force behind other emerging technologies such as ink jet technology, lasers, and geospatial technologies, among many others. Xerion is a perfect fit for the Research Park and it will be exciting following them as they continue to develop these important technologies.”
Xerion previously had corporate operations based in Westminster, Colorado and their labs were located in the Research Park at the University of Illinois in Champaign. The Xerion team has worked closely with the Dayton Development Coalition, Montgomery County, and City of Kettering over the past few years and received an incentive package from the city, county, and state to absorb roughly 80% of the multi-million dollar relocation.
Julie Sullivan, vice-president of the Dayton Development Coalition, stated, “We’re thrilled to have a cutting-edge company like Xerion establish roots in Kettering and tap into our Region’s innovation ecosystem and drive for discovery. They represent the type of company we work to bring into our region, and we know Kettering has the resources they need to for a bright future.”
“On behalf of our team, we want to thank the Miami Valley Research Park, the state of Ohio, and specifically the economic development partners in the Dayton region – Dayton Development Coalition, Montgomery County and city of Kettering, for the support they have provided to us during our relocation,” said Xerion’s ceo, Dr. John Busbee. “From the incentive package offered, to assisting our team with options such as housing, schools, and spousal employment, the experience has simply been terrific. We look forward to being in the Dayton region for many years to come.”
