“What Are We?”: a vivid and stirring tale about a playful young lass who unexpectedly asks a different question of what to her parents that inspires insight into their hearts. “What Are We?” is the creation of published author Michelle Estes, a mother and wife from Temple, Texas; and a graduate of Sam Houston State University who obtained a bachelor of arts degree in architecture and design.

Estes shares, “Grace Standifer seems to be a normal six–year-old little girl that is full of questions about life. She loves to spend the day playing dress-up with her friends, having lunch with her grandmother, and then curling up in her daddy’s lap as he reads the evening paper. But one day her questions changed from ‘why’ to ‘what,’ causing her and her parents to look at their lives differently. Come join us as we go through that day when everything changed for Grace and her parents as she asked, ‘What are we?’”

Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Michelle Estes’s new book shows the endearing curiosity of children that sometimes take adults by surprise, bringing amusement and wisdom within.

Come along with Grace in her journey of asking her parents what they are—a question so innocent yet profound, it ushers in a newfound reflection in their lives.
