Full-time, tuition-free online public school hosts commencement ceremony for graduates across the state
EAST LANSING, Mich., July 7, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Graduation. Such an exciting milestone, especially for the more than 120 students from Michigan Connections Academy, a tuition-free online public school serving students in grades K-12 statewide. Some might wonder what graduation looks like for students enrolled full-time in online learning. These graduates had the opportunity to walk across the stage at Wharton Hall at Michigan State University, move their tassels from right to left, and toss their caps in the air, all in the presence of family and friends.

The Michigan Connections Academy Class of 2022 was awarded more than $300,000 in scholarships, with 42% planning to attend a 2- or 4-year college or university. Additionally, 10% plan to attend vocational or technical school, and 19% plan to enter the workforce. Other graduates are choosing to join the military, take a gap year or pursue other opportunities.
