Michigan Consumer Credit Lawyers aims to educate consumers on their credit rights against collection agencies and credit reporting companies
Southfield, MI (PRWEB) January 29, 2014 -- Attorney Gary Nitzkin of Michigan Consumer Credit Lawyers announced today that he will begin offering a series of free workshops throughout Southeastern Michigan in 2014 to educate Michigan consumers about their rights against collection agencies and credit reporting companies.
Attorney Nitzkin speaks with consumers whose rights are violated by debt collectors or credit reporting agencies. He has consistently found that many people are unaware of their rights to be free from debt collector harassment and their rights to pursue those debt collectors.
“Most people come to me once they reach their wits’ end and decide to search the Internet for debt help,” Nitzkin said. “People do not realize they do not have to feel bullied into paying a debt they do not owe, nor are they aware that they can use legal force to require credit reporting agencies to fix errors on their credit report. They also do not know that attorneys’ fees and costs are free to consumers under the laws.”
After discovering how little most people know about their consumer credit rights, Nitzkin set out to make a difference by building an entirely new Michigan Consumer Credit Lawyers web site with its focus centered around educating consumers on how to handle debt collectors using illegal practices and credit reporting agencies that refuse to fix errors on a credit report. Nitzkin also plans to take the education one step further by conducting consumer credit rights educational workshops throughout Southeastern Michigan.
“Most of the community organizations we’ve contacted are more than happy to allow us to host a program to provide consumers with this sort of free information,” Nitzkin said. “If a person seeks my legal representation as a result of something they learned on my site or during one of these events that’s great, but my primary goal is to let all consumers know that there are laws in place to provide relief from debt collector harassment and credit reporting carelessness.”
Michigan Consumer Credit Lawyers is located in Southfield, Michigan.
