Midstate Radiology Associates, LLC has partnered with Navagen Health Partners to provide patients knowledge of their genetic cancer risk through the "Give a Spit" Campaign.
Patients can easily access a 5-minute online cancer risk assessment from the Midstate Radiology Associates, LLC website and be sent their breast cancer risk score via email.
If a patient is found to be at increased risk for breast cancer, Midstate Radiology Associates, LLC will connect him or her with a certified genetics counselor from the comfort of their home or via phone at the time of their mammogram.
If the patient prefers, a paper questionnaire can be completed at the time of her mammogram. Based on the results of the assessment, patients will be provided additional diagnostic testing recommendations.
Patients at elevated risk can provide a saliva sample in-office or opt to have an at-home testing kit mailed to them by Midstate Radiology Associates, LLC. Once the sample is received, it takes about six weeks to analyze before a nurse practitioner reviews the results and next steps with the patient in-person or virtually.
